We are a nonpartisan grassroots movement comprised of a diverse group of South Carolinians who are uniting under a common cause: to make elections more fair with instant runoff voting.

"As a country, we have strayed from the fundamental values we were born from. The honesty, loyalty, sacrifice, and grit it took for our founding fathers to lead us to independence have been replaced with cowardice, entitlement, disconnectedness, and senseless extremism. One major step we can take to fix this is to change the way we elect our local and national leaders. By instituting measures like final five voting and open primaries, we can slow the vehicles that have been accelerating the growth of toxicity in our political system. The political duopoly, sustained by corrupt corporations and special-interest groups, can be reversed by reinstilling trust in our electoral process and passing proven sensical voting laws. VAV, along with many other organizations, has a path forward for achieving this reformation by leveraging the trust the American public has in our nation’s veterans and the oath we all took to defend our constitution. "The way we elect our Federal and State political leaders is a major contributing factor to the malfunctioning of our republic and our state. Plurality voting over time reduces the voter’s choice down to the lessor of two evils and entrenches the extremes of a two-party system. We need to establish a new way to vote in order to ensure a “Government of the people, by the people, for the people,” and return civility to our body politic and that new way is Final Five Voting."
